I have been a blogging slacker :/

My new years resolution was to start blogging more. So here we are, half way through February, and I haven't blogged once! Shame, shame......

So here is what is new with us; We moved to our new location on August 1st 2011, and things have been amazing! We are now located on the northeast corner of Walton and Livernois in the Boulevard Shoppes. We have a much larger, brand new, and modern facility. We have 2 Airbrush Tanning Rooms, a Waxing Room, a Laser Hair Removal Room, and a Facial Treatment Room.

Megan Wilson joined our team, with a wealth of knowledge on everything you need to know to improve your skin. She has 12 years of esthetician experience, and is continually educating herself on the latest and greatest in the Spa industry. She is offering a very expansive list of skin care services, including amazing organic facials, several different types of peels, the Dermasound Ultrasonic Facial, and Reiki.

With spring coming up quickly, we are approaching our busy season. Waxing season is upon us as everyone is preparing for their winter vacations, and spring breaks. Now that we have 2 airbrush tanning rooms, we will be able to accommodate so many more clients that we could at our previous location.

We are carrying 2 amazing lines of Skincare products. Eminence Organic Skincare , and Image Skincare . We use these 2 product lines in all of the skincare treatments that we offer, and we have an impressive amount of skincare products for sale for home care.

We also started carrying Voluspa Candles, Serious Serum for post waxing, and Norvell Sunless for Airbrush tanning maintenance.

We are so happy for all the support from our wonderful clients. Referrals are the best compliment, and we are so flattered with the amount of people referring their friends and loved ones! We are going to be rolling out a referral program soon to reward you for spreading the word about Advanced Body Care Rochester.

Thanks for all your continued support, and cheers to a wonderful 2012!

Want a Laugh?

I often hear people reference this episode of Friends, when Ross gets the spray tan from hell! This will NOT happen to you at Advanced Body Care! This video shows one of the spray booths that alot of tanning salons offer. The difference between this and an Airbrush Tan is that an Airbrush Tan is sprayed on by hand, by a person. You wont be in a small space in a cloud of solution like poor Ross, and there is no counting and turning that you have to remember. You also dont have to worry about blotting or rubbing any solution in with a towel, so there is really no room for error. You will be walked through the process by your experienced spray tan technician, so you dont have to worry about a thing! Watch this video for a giggle :)

Airbrush Tanning = Fabulous!

I just wanted to share a few pictures of some celebrities that are, most likely, getting airbrush tanned. These are some perfect examples of what an airbrush tan will look like when skillfully applied.

The most common question i get is "Will I be orange?" and the answer is NO! There are all sorts of different solution brands and levels that we can pick from to make sure that we pick the right one for your natural skin tone.

Our introductory pricing period for airbrush tanning ended as of June 30. Our new pricing is $30 for full body, and a package of 5 full body sessions is $120. Still a great deal, if I can say so myself!

If you have seen some fabulous tans around town, odds are they came to Advanced Body Care to get airbrushed!

I have yet to see a home-applied sunless tan that looks as good as an airbrush tan. It is almost impossible to mimic the flawless and even application of an airbrush tan with the sunless tanning products you can do at home. if you havent tried it yet, you simply must make an appointment! Dont be shy!

EEEK!!

This photo of Monique on the red carpet has been making the rounds on the internet and in the tabloids. As a hair removal professional, I had to share it here with you guys!

Good for her for being confident enough to not care what other people think, I guess. But seriously Monique, please call me and I can take care of that hair before your next red carpet event! And I dont mean braiding it, I mean waxing it!

This is a trend that I really hope doesnt catch on ladies. NOT CUTE!!!

Winter Blah Blah Blahs......

It seemed that we were going to get by with a mild winter this year in Michigan. But, no such luck. It seems that we just cant escape the snow! and its driving me crazy! So, to help with my overall crabbiness, I have been spray tanning myself like crazy. So, even though I wont be taking any more vacations this season, at least I can look like I am!

I am also so excited that alot of teenagers have been coming in for spray tans. Today alone I sprayed 3 girls who are going to their Sadie Hawkins dance tonight. How cute! Back when I was in high school, I would lay in a tanning bed, causing damage that is really starting to catch up with me. How great that teenagers in this day and age have another option. Airbrush Tanning instead of tanning booths will save so many wrinkles and spots on these youngsters when they get older. So keep up the good work, moms and dads, by not letting your teen start that terrible habit!

Glycolic Acid Peels Are Your Skins New BFF!

Glycolic acid is such a wonderful ingredient. Weather you get professional, in-office peels, or just use cleansers and lotions at home that contain glycolic acid, it is amazing the results that one can achieve.

The best way I can explain what it does for your skin is this;
we all have layers of dead and damaged skin cells that accumulate on the surface of our skin. The more this dead skin accumulates, the more dull and lackluster the skin will appear. As we age, the skin cells do not turn over as fast as they once did. So we need to start encouraging the process ourselves.

Of course there are many exfoliating scrubs that you can use to do this, but none of them are as effective as Glycolic Acid. It is also an exfoliant, but does so on a deeper level. Glycolic acid will break the bond, or cement in other words, that holds your dead and damaged skin cells to your living skin cells. By consistently using Glycolic Acid, your skin will improve in many ways. First you will notice that your skin will feel much smoother to the touch. This happens instantly after you recieve your 1st peel. Then, as your treatments progress, you will notice a big improvement in any discolration that you have from the sun. The sun spots will start to fade, the fine lines will appear less noticable, and you will restore that youthful glow to your skin. When your skin has a healthy glow, it appears much more healthy and younger.

We now offer the best skin care line out there that is based on the wonderful benefits of Glycolic Acid, Glytone. We offer peels in percentages ranging from 30% up to 70%. We also carry their at home product line to use between your peels and to maintain your results. And its reasonably priced! Honestly, please stop wasting money on all these department store skin care lines that dont contain any ingredients that will truly change your skin. The Glytone Step-Up kit only costs $88 and it will last you about 3 months.

We also are offering a Series of 6 Glycolic Acid Peels for $360! We will start you with the lowest percentage of acid and work up to higher percentages. We recommend that you space them 2-3 weeks apart for best results.

If your skin is feeling the winter blahs, this is your answer! Please call for an appointment!
